ABSTRACT Purpose The aim of this study is to identify the main aspects decision-making process indicating use Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC), as well characteristics interventions. Methods This a prospective study, which was submitted and approved by Ethics Research Committee. An electronic questionnaire created sent speech therapist professionals collect data for research, with minimum 5 years clinical experience in AAC area. Results We found predominance clinic, work young children, especially cases ASD CAS. There divergence reporting addressed technology example used resource. Most report difficulties adherence AAC, mainly due lack understanding what all about barriers from family members other professionals. Conclusion research professional training Therefore, investing these areas necessary expand conscious promote awareness members.
